Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP, Kolkata), and TNS Logi-Park Pvt. Ltd. have formally embarked on a remarkable journey to breathe new life into the historic Dai Ghat.
This significant memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed as part of TNS Logi-Park Pvt. Ltd.’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, marked the beginning of a new phase of redevelopment, renovation and beautification for this valued landmark.

The proceedings were graced by Rathendra Raman, chairman, SMP, Kolkata, Samrat Rahi, deputy chairman, SMP, Kolkata, along with members of TNS Logi-Park Pvt. Ltd, R P Singh, CEO; Aditya Roy, CFO and Vishal Singh, operations head and other key officials.
Previously, SMP, Kolkata has inked MoUs with Adani Group and PS Realty Group for renovating Kumartuli and Nimtalla Ghat, respectively.
Shri Raman said, “The Doi Ghat holds not only immense historic resonance but also served as a hub of local dairy trade in the old Calcutta. Renovating this ghat is a significant step towards SMP, Kolkata’s initiative to develop the Hooghly riverfront and add more to its aesthetics.”
Under the terms of this agreement, SMP, Kolkata will extend its support by providing unfettered access and essential utilities, including electricity, water and robust security, to ensure the seamless execution of the project.
