Signature controversy: TMC’s Sovondeb releases meeting documents

Saleem Ahmad, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, New Delhi visited the Kolkata unit of RVNL on Wednesday to review the various projects being executed by the RVNL in the city.
As part of this review, he inspected the progress of ongoing underground tunnelling work being carried out by two TBMs named as ‘Durga’ and ‘Divya’. The CMD emphasised the safety and quality aspect of work as a priority. The newly constructed BC Roy market was also inspected. The CMD also reviewed the progress of the Orange Line Metro work from Beliaghata to the IT Centre. Various issues and challenges being faced were reviewed and discussed, including the matters concerning those issues that are causing the delay of the execution of the project.

Mr Ahmad also met SS Mishra, General Manager of Kolkata Metro Railway, and discussed the project-related matters.

As informed by the city Metro office, both the TBMs that had started the burrowing work from St. Thomas Launching Shaft and are proceeding towards Victoria station. TBM Durga has completed approximately 1,100m of tunnelling and TBM Divya has completed approximately 650 metres.
