Authors discuss India’s diversity in present times
Author and journalist Syed Ali Mujtaba unveiled his new book, Changing Nature of Indian State, at Press Club today.
Noted photo journalist Tarapada Banerjee died in the city after a brief illness.
Banerjee had worked in Anandabazar Patrika and was known for his news photos. His book on Satyajit Ray containing some of the rare photographs of him is a well read book.
Condoling his death chief minister Mamata Banerjee, recollected her long association with him, wrote on her X handle: “I personally remember him as the only photographer who took the pictures (from a running scooter) of CPM goons trying to murder me in Hazra More in south Kolkata, when I was in the Opposition. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and admirers.”
