KMC gears up for monsoons, holds meeting with stakeholders
With the forecast of a bountiful monsoon this year, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation held a high-level meeting with various stakeholders on preparedness for the upcoming rainy season.
The opening ceremony of Saraswati Puja was held at the 99-year-old Santragachi Kedarnath Institution. Dr Sujoy Chakraborty, the chairman of the Howrah Municipal Corporation inaugurated the Puja.
Keeping in mind the changing mode of learning, for the first time, the school students offered Mobile and Laptop instead of books and pens to Devi Saraswati for worship.
In an attempt at course correction, the students and teachers of the institution reflected the current scenario through the theme “Drishti-Bhrom”(illusion). It is the impact of social media that has led to such a disastrous effect on the society, which was amply reflected through the way the goddess was decorated.

The theme of Sahaj Paath by Rabindranath Tagore was also explored by the school through its message to the society.
