Musicians collaborate for fusion album

Durga Puja is associated with songs and music.

The Mahishasurmardini, scripted by Banikumar and composed by Pankaj Kumar Mullick and the strotra from Chandi by Birendrakrishna Bhadra has entertained the Bengalis for the past six decades. Every year, basic discs sung by Hemanta Mukherjee, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Sandhya Mukherjee, Lata Mangeshkar, Arati Mukherjee had enthralled the Bengali minds in the 1950s to 1980s.

Keeping the tradition Shiladitya Chaudhury, Som Chakraborty, Debjyoti Bose Suvo, secretary massArt came together to prepare a fusion music on the UNESCO and massArt Durga puja initiative.

The songs have been composed by Shiladitya and Som have been sung by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and Usha Uthup with Pandit Tanmay Bose on table to create a mesmerising rhythm. The album Rock Stotra was recently released in the city.
