In order to check the preparedness of Metro staff of different departments to tackle any fire emergency inside the tunnels or on the viaduct, regular training is conducted in Metro Railway, Kolkata.
A firefighting training programme for the field staff was conducted under the supervision of senior officers on Friday at Majerhat Metro station. In this training, Metro staff were imparted training on how to douse the flame through simulation of various fire and smoke conditions.

Staff from the traffic department and RPF personnel attended this training. It is expected that such training will sharpen the skill and alertness of the field staff to respond to any emergency situation and minimize the rescue time and restore normalcy at the earliest.
