Fire at 3rd floor of health city

Fire broke out at the house of a physician that was locked from outside in the third-floor of an integrated health city compound in Durgapur today.

One fire tender controlled the fire within an hour, but the firefighters were shocked to see that the ‘life’ of the fire extinguishers installed in the apartment building by the private realtor had elapsed seven months ago last February. The fire officials suspect the fire was caused by the air-conditioning that, by chance, was left running by the physician while he’d gone to his duty at the hospital within the township.
