Dolui, who cleared the ISC examinations this year with 94.2 per cent marks, has already secured admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in the physics (BTech) stream.

Due to the delay in the announcement of this year’s WBJEE results, his parents said: “The academically bright student had already opted for admission outside the state. They added that he has always been focussed on his studies, preferring to concentrate on textbooks thoroughly and practise solving question papers before every examination.

The WBJEE examinations were conducted on 27 April this year.
