Decomposed body of WBCS officer discovered

The post-mortem report has revealed that the man had been suffering from tuberculosis and died due to the ailment.

The decomposed body of a retired WBCS officer was discovered early this morning from his residence at Ibrahimpur Road in Jadavpur. Sukriti Bhushan Dutta, the 80- year-old former WBCS officer, used to live alone in the rented room on the first floor of an apartment building.

Local residents noticed a foul smell coming out his room at around 7.00 a.m. today and they immediately informed the police. Police from Jadavpur police station arrived at the spot and discovered the decompossed body of the man inside his room. His body was lying on the floor.

No suicide note was found from the room. Later his body was sent for an autopsy at M. R. Bangur Hospital. The post-mortem report has revealed that the man had been suffering from tuberculosis and died due to the ailment.

According to police, the man was unmarried and had been living in this rented room for some years. He usually kept to himself and his interaction with his neighbours was very limited. Although some of his relatives sometimes came to stay with him, he lived alone for most of the time. A sensation gripped the locality after the incident came to light.
