As informed by the general manager of Kolkata Metro Railway, the corridor is to have an integrated ticketing system and commuters would be able to travel from Dakshineswar to Ruby in a single ticket.

“The date for inauguration is to come from the ministry of railways. About seven to 10 days would be required by us as the integrated fare structure is being examined at the board and that authorization also has to come. By 14 February, we will inform the board of the date. The frequency of trains and services would be like Joka-Taratala at present but in another one-and-a-half years or two years’ time, it would almost be like the East-West Metro with the commissioning of CBTC. As pointed out by the general manager, it takes some time for installation of CBTC as the rolling stock and the tracks also need to be upgraded with the technology,”he added.

The control room of the upcoming Metro corridor of New-Garia and Ruby is at Central Park in Salt Lake.
