Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said that a country cannot progress with violence and hatred. Mr Gandhi was addressing at English Bazaar Town in Malda this evening.

“Progress is possible with love not violence and injustice on the people,” Mr Gandhi said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to repeal farm laws when farmers were united in their protest against the laws,” Mr Gandhi pointed out.

Paying respect to Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and other personalities, Rahul Gandhi, said, “It is the responsibility of the people of Bengal to be united and fight against injustice.”

Responding to Congress activists, Mr Gandhi said, “Late ABA Ghani Khan Choudhury did a lot and brought in development here. We need to pay respects to him.”

It may be noted that the Congress leaders organised a road show for Rahul Gandhi at English Bazaar in Malda this evening, where chief minister Mamata Banerjee organised Jana Sanyog Yatra in the late morning today.

The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Bengal for the second time from Bihar today via Harishchandrapur in Malda district today as chief minister Mamata Banerjee left for Murshidabad.

The CPM-led Left Front activists joined Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra from the north Malda area.

Just after entering Malda, the blame game started between the Congress and the TMC following alleged attacks on Rahul Gandhi’s car.

The Congress leader Supriya Shrinate clarified that the information was wrong.

The car was damaged due to a huge rush when security personnel were preventing them.

Mr Gandhi will stay overnight in Sujapur in Malda and leave for Murshidabad tomorrow.
