The XVIth Indian Coast Guard Technical and Logistics Management Conference (TLMC) was inaugurated by director general Rakesh Pal, DGICG on Tuesday at Kolkata. The three-day annual conference is being attended by deputy director general (M&M), commander Coast Guard Region North East and senior technical and logistics officers & policy makers of Indian Coast Guard from across the country.

The TLMC is aimed at improving the effectiveness of technical and logistics support to the ICG fleet of ships and aircrafts and to bring together key stakeholders, Shipyards, OEM/PAC and industry leaders to deliberate on pressing issues and advancements in the Coast Guard fleet maintenance domain. Brainstorming sessions on various topics would cover maintenance issues, challenges faced by the fleet, logistics imperatives with special attention to enhance indigenous content along the lines of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. Deliberations and discussions on a comprehensive roadmap for future integration of technological advancements and logistical innovations into the operational framework of the Indian Coast Guard are planned to ensure enhanced fleet operations for meeting the mandated duties of the service.

The conference would also serve as a platform for robust knowledge exchange, facilitating discussions on cutting-edge technologies, best practices and emerging trends in technical and logistics domains pertinent to maritime operations.
