If all goes as planned, the Taratala to Majerhat stretch of the city metro could see the green light soon. The mandatory inspection of the newly built Majerhat Metro station by the chief commissioner of railway safety (CCRS) was conducted today. The upcoming Metro station was busier than usual this morning when CCRS, Mr Janak Kumar Garg, undertook a trolley inspection from Majerhat to Taratala station.
He inspected the entry and exit gates, AFC-PC gates, ticketing system, escalators, lifts, signage boards, fire detection and suppression system and other passenger amenities and passenger interchanging arrangements with Eastern Railway at Majerhat Metro station.
He also inspected the Taratala Metro station of Purple Line. During the inspection, the CCRS inspected the station control room, electronic interlocking (EI) system, signal equipment room, booking counters and so on. As a part of the inspection, a speed trial in the stretch from Majerhat to Joka station and back was also conducted at a maximum speed of 60 kmph.
