A school teacher at Narendrapur in South 24-Parganas has been arrested on charges of blackmailing her lover’s friend, who is also her colleague after recording intimate moments.
The same allegations have led to the arrest of the teacher’s lover, who is also involved with the accused school teacher to blackmail the complainant. According to police sources, the detained school teacher works at a private school in Panchasayar area of Narendrapur and has a romantic relationship with a youth employed in the Kolkata Metro. The complainant also works in the same school, where the accused teacher, Rani (name changed), was working. Rani, established a relationship with Chirandip Halder (name changed), a Metro employee and became close to him. Rani also introduced the victim to her lover. The three would often spend time together in various places, sharing meals and forming a close bond. On one occasion, the complainant invited the teacher and her lover Chirandip to her house. During the gathering, the complainant informed the police that she asked them to stay at night.
However, a physical intimacy occurred between the complainant and Chirandip on that night. The girlfriend of the Metro railway employee recorded the act and later used it to blackmail the complainant. According to the complaint, Rani and Chirandip extorted Rs 20 lakh and a gold chain and other ornaments from her, who eventually broke down and reported the incident to the police. The police have arrested both the teacher and Chirandip in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be revealed during questioning.
