e-Vitara specs: The Indian auto industry hit a big milestone this week. With one hand on tradition and the other firmly steering towards the future, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Suzuki Motor’s new plant in Hansalpur. The facility will manufacture hybrid battery electrodes locally and also serve as the launch pad for Maruti Suzuki’s first ever global electric SUV, the e-Vitara.

At the event, PM Modi called it a “new chapter” in the Make in India journey, pointing out that EVs built in India will now be exported to over 100 countries, including auto-heavyweights like Japan and Europe.

But what truly sets it apart is its performance. The e-Vitara comes with an ARAI-certified range of 500 km on a single charge.

For now, the SUV will only come in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup.

Price and availability

Maruti has always been known for balancing affordability with quality. The e-Vitara continues that legacy, with an expected price range of ₹17 lakh to ₹22.5 lakh, according to cardekho (dot) com.

This makes it competitive in the growing EV segment, where global brands are still trying to find the sweet spot for Indian buyers.

For Indian buyers, the e-Vitara offers not just an eco-friendly alternative but also a feature-rich SUV that doesn’t compromise on comfort or practicality.
