Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that the state should not only be identified with ‘mines’ but also with ‘mind’, not with its resources but also with research and innovation and inclusive growth.
After making its mark at the World Economic Forum, Soren pointed out that tthe state is now all set to move forward with its original model of technological revolution and ‘Technology Governance’. “We will not copy-paste but will carve a new path with our own intellect,” he said while addressing a gathering at the National Stakeholders Consultation organized by the Jharkhand government in New Delhi.

The event aimed to showcase state’s roadmap for technology- driven growth and accordingly attract investments and foster partnerships to accelerate technological development and growth.
According to the CM, preparations are underway to establish Jharkhand as the country’s emerging ‘Technology Destination.’ He asserted that, when it comes to discussing country’s industrial growth, the conversation is incomplete without mentioning about Jharkhand.
Soren further said that under the vision 2050, deliberations will be held with industry representatives and several MoUs will also be signed during the two- day national stakeholders consultation.
Representatives of IT giants like Google, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, KPMG and companies were also present on the occasion, along with top officials of the state government.
Speaking on the occasion, Jharkhand’s Secretary of the Information Technology and e-Governance Department Pooja Singhal emphasized that the CM said technology must reach the grassroots level and bring in measurable improvement in peoples’ lives.
Addressing the industry representatives, she said that the state invites meaningful partnership for a better future of its people, and positioning Jharkhand as a technically advance state.
She also said that the aim of the two-day consultation is to improve service delivery to the citizens through technology integration, good governance, and to create better employment opportunities for the people.
Singhal also mentioned about the proposed IT park in the state on over 100 acres of dispute and encroachment-free land in the Naya Sarai area of Ranchi, adding that the state’s IT policy has also been notified.
