The Boeing 737 cargo plane was being operated by Karachi-based K2 Airways on a flight from Sharjah in the UAE to Karachi when it reported a navigation system problem at 9:18 p.m. (local time), The Associated Press reported.

As per flight-tracking service Flightradar24, data indicated that the 27-year-old converted freighter possibly crashed into the sea southwest of Karachi.

Radar data even showed that the cargo aircraft rapidly descended and made sharp altitude changes before a steep final descent.

Established in May 2018, K2 Airways is a private cargo airline based in Karachi.

In a coordinated search and rescue operation, officials said Pakistan’s military and civilian authorities have deployed multiple air and sea assets.
