West Bengal Governor R.N. Ravi is scheduled to visit Malda district on June 23 and attend two programmes in Old Malda town.

According to Malda Superintendent of Police Anupam Singh, the Governor is expected to arrive by the Vande Bharat Express on Tuesday. During his visit, he will first visit a historic gurdwara in the Sarbari area in Old Malda and later participate in a cultural programme at the Kalachand High School ground.

On Sunday, Singh, accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Roy, DSP (Traffic) Munges Subba, Malda Police Station IC Gopal Biswas and other officials, inspected the venues and reviewed the preparations.

“We are here to review the overall arrangements for the Governor’s visit. The inspection is aimed at assessing how the preparations are progressing, including security measures and traffic management. Our objective is to ensure that all arrangements are carried out smoothly and that the Governor’s security is adequately maintained throughout the visit,” Singh said.

Preparations have been stepped up at both the gurdwara and the Kalachand High School ground ahead of the Governor’s visit. The police team reviewed security arrangements, traffic management plans and other logistical measures to ensure the programmes are conducted smoothly.
