Gandhi landed at the airport here late this afternoon. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his ex-deputy and AICC General Secretary Sachin Pilot, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Tika Ram Jully and other prominent party leaders were present at the airport.
From the airport, he proceeded to the hotel where he had a short break and later went to the Dussehra grounds here to attend the programme: a mega interactive dialogue with young coaching seeking career aspirants.
At the onset or even before his start, tragic suicides by at least nine NEET aspirants upset over the cancellation of the earlier exam kept the LoP overwhelmed.
Gandhi said, “As I set out for Kota, two names – Umesh Mali and Riya (deceased students – were echoing in my heart. These 22-23-year-olds were meant to soar the open skies of their dreams, but they were lost to this unjust system.
He said these deaths result from a broken corrupt system for which the Modi Government and Education Minister Pradhan are responsible.
The pain of the bereaved families would not work as catalyst to amplify voice of students through this movement “Chhatron Ki Gunj”.
“We will fight to ensure that no child’s dreams shatter like this from now on,” he asserted.
In the bid of Saving the Education System and the future of young aspirants, similar programs under this national movement will be organised in 3 cities of Allahabad (Prayagraj), Patna and New Delhi.
