The Punjab Government on Thursday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring four IAS officers and 30 PCS officers in a move that primarily affects Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) across several districts of the state.

According to official orders issued by the Department of Personnel, the transfers have been made with immediate effect as part of an administrative reorganisation aimed at strengthening district-level governance.

In another significant posting, 2023-batch IAS officer Kritika Goyal has been named the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Mansa. Fellow 2023-batch IAS officer Aditya Sharma has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Tarn Taran, while IAS officer Pallavi Mishra has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Amritsar, against a vacant position.

The reshuffle also includes the transfer and posting of a large number of PCS officers at the ADC and SDM levels. Officials said the exercise is intended to improve administrative efficiency and ensure smoother implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level.

Several districts, including Ludhiana, Amritsar, Mansa, Tarn Taran and Budhlada, have received new appointments under the latest transfer orders. The officers concerned have been directed to assume their new responsibilities immediately.

The latest administrative changes are being viewed as one of the more extensive district-level reshuffles undertaken by the Punjab Government in recent months, with a focus on strengthening field administration and public service delivery across the state.
