The poster released a few days before the teaser showed Sethupathi from behind, with his arm raised, gripping a long blade. The blade is smeared with blood. He is dressed in rugged, worn clothing in warm orange-brown tones, hinting at a street-level setting.
Director Puri Jagannadh announced on June 6, 2026, via his X account that Vijay Sethupathi had completed dubbing for the teaser himself in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. This is notable because most actors in pan-India productions dub only in their primary language and leave the rest to voice artists.
Sethupathi’s involvement across three languages is intended to strengthen the film’s reach with audiences across the country.
‘SlumDog: 33 Temple Road’ is a pan-India action drama directed by Puri Jagannadh. The cast includes Samyuktha Menon and Tabu in key roles. Duniya Vijay, Brahmaji, VTV Ganesh and Zarina Wahab are also part of the ensemble.
The film is produced under the banner of Puri Connects. Music is composed by National Award-winning composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Rameshwar previously scored ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Animal’.
The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. It is produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur and JB Narayana Rao Kondrolla.
This film comes after the failure of ‘Double Ismart’. Puri Jagannadh took a gap before returning with this social drama. Fans on social media have called the teaser a sign of his return to form.
