Cockroach Janta Party gets Delhi Police nod for protest at Jantar Mantar today
An official police communication shows the Cockroach Janta Party received permission to hold a day-long demonstration at Jantar Mantar under a one-time exemption.
Police granted a one-time exemption for the demonstration, allowing supporters of the organisation to assemble at Jantar Mantar instead of the originally planned location.

With placards in hand and slogans targeting the Centre’s handling of examinations, supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) assembled at Jantar Mantar on Saturday to protest alleged irregularities in NEET 2026 and the CBSE’s On-Screen Marking system. Protesters repeatedly raised the slogan, “We asked for Make in India, you gave us Leak in India.”
The demonstration adds to the growing political and public pressure over alleged lapses in the country’s examination system. The protest comes at a time when investigations into examination-related irregularities remain underway and opposition parties continue to target the Centre over the issue.

Ahead of the protest, the organisation announced on social media that it had secured permission from Delhi Police to hold the demonstration.
“Permission granted by police! Cockroaches gather at Jantar Mantar,” Dipke wrote in a post on X.
In another message, he urged supporters to head directly to the protest venue. “All cockroaches should come straight to Jantar Mantar, not Parliament Street Police Station. We will begin our peaceful protest at 10 AM,” he posted.
The official CJP handle also confirmed the change in assembly plans after receiving police clearance.
“Delhi Police has granted permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar. We can now assemble directly at Jantar Mantar, and no longer need to go to the Parliament Street Police Station, as originally planned. Cockroaches aa rahe hain, Dharmendra Pradhan jaa rahe hain,” the post read.
According to an official order issued by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, permission was granted for the protest at Jantar Mantar from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday.
In the permission letter issued to Dipke, Delhi Police said the protest had been allowed as a one-time exemption under guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and related court orders.
The protest comes at a time when questions over the conduct of competitive examinations continue to dominate public debate. Allegations of paper leaks and procedural lapses in NEET-UG have triggered nationwide concern, with the CBI investigating the matter and making several arrests in recent months.
The controversy has also drawn sharp political reactions, with opposition leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Jairam Ramesh and Rahul Gandhi accusing the Centre of failing to prevent repeated examination-related controversies and seeking accountability from the government.
