The latest arrests include former CPM Corporation Councilor and Palayalam local committee secretary IP. Binu, Anilkumar, Kiran, and Amal. .Binu was arrested by the police while he was hiding in a hotel room in Thampanoor. Footage of Binu throwing eggs at the vehicle in which the ED officials were travelling while the police officers were watching had surfaced. Amal, a prominent DYFI worker, was tracked down and arrested while hiding at a lodge in Kottayam

Meanwhile,the Vanchiyoor court has remanded five CPM workers to 14 days of judicial custody in the case related to the assaulting Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Thursday
