Amid escalating protests demanding the recruitment of teachers in government schools, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday announced that the recruitment of teachers in Bihar will begin soon.
Following a high-level review meeting of the Education Department held at the Chief Minister’s residence, Choudhary said that over the next five years, one lakh teachers will be appointed, with at least 20,000 teachers to be recruited every year.

He added that recruitment advertisements would be issued annually in the month of July.
“Our government is continuously working to ensure that every child in the state receives good and quality education,” he said.
Amid growing protests over TRE-4 (Fourth Teacher Recruitment Examination) in Bihar, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari had earlier assured teacher aspirants that the official TRE-4 notification would be released by the Education Department and the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) at the earliest. He had said that all administrative and technical preparations were in the final stage.
As a result, there were high expectations that the Chief Minister would make a major announcement regarding TRE-4 after chairing the review meeting. However, the meeting turned out to be a broader review of issues related to the Education Department, including teacher transfers and school uniforms.
In a post on X, Choudhary said that to make teacher transfers transparent and convenient, the Education Department had been directed to formulate a policy under which women teachers may, as far as possible, be transferred to panchayats adjacent to their home panchayat within their home block and home district. Similarly, male teachers may be transferred to blocks adjacent to their home block within their home district.
The chief minister also announced that school uniforms for students across the state would be supplied through Jeevika. He said this would ensure the timely distribution of uniforms while also strengthening women’s self-reliance.
