In an effort to bring forward, support and nurture the talent of the national capital’s youth, the Art and Culture Ministry of the Delhi government on Wednesday launched the “Hoslon Ki Udaan 2026-27”, a talent hunt scheme.

Addressing a press conference, along with Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said there is a lot of un-tapped talent in people from different states and cultural backgrounds living in the national capital. What had been lacking so far is the right platform. She was confident that the governmental effort to reach out to such individuals would pay off.

Now, the talent will not have to come all the way to the government, rather the system will reach out to them transcending lanes and bylanes in every nook and corner of the city, she assured.

Gupta informed that the individuals will not have to spend a single penny, even on the registration for the scheme as the government is soon launching a portal for the purpose. Youths in 16-35 years age group can register themselves with the portal, upload their work videos to be seen and shortlisted by a panel of judges.

After short listing the candidates, audition centres will be put up across all assembly constituencies in each of the 35 zones in the city so that the local youth could come for audition in their respective areas. Based on the auditions, they will be further shortlisted for the state level competition.

“From lakhs, thousands will be shortlisted, and then from them, successful candidates will be selected for prizes,” the CM shared.

The competition has been divided into several categories, including singing, dancing, acting, instrumental music, composition, digital art, pottery, and sculpture.
The first prize is of Rs 2.5 lakh, the second prize Rs 2 lakh, the third prize is Rs 1.5 lakh and the fourth prize is of Rs 1 lakh.

Apart from the prize money, every successful candidate will be given a certificate, and a medal and will be offered future opportunities by the government.
Gupta said it is going to be a great occasion when the youth, along with the state government, will move forward. “Youth coming from all backgrounds will be given equal chance in this initiative.”
