Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP in his parliamentary constituency on Tuesday regarding the country’s current economic scenario.

In a public meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that the economic changes the Prime Minister made will create a storm and the people of UP will be shocked. An economic shock is coming, he awared the people. “It won’t affect Adani, Ambani, or Prime Minister Modi. It will affect the youth, farmers, and small businesses of UP. Very difficult times are coming. Instead of taking action, the Prime Minister is telling people not to travel abroad, while Prime Minister Modi himself is traveling the world,” he added.

“Petrol prices are rising. Inflation is skyrocketing. They say Rahul has no understanding. We are still telling him to take action and protect the public. But he has no say. Sometimes he flies to Norway, sometimes to Japan, sometimes somewhere else,” he pointed out.

“Narendra Modi says don’t buy gold, buy electric cars, and don’t go abroad. After saying this, Narendra Modi goes abroad. Sadly, a massive economic storm is about to hit, one that no one can stop,” he warned.

Addressing a rally in Khiro, Gandhi blamed the government for rising inflation, the economic crisis, unemployment, and increasing petrol and diesel prices.

The Rae Bareli MP said politics has become about diverting people’s attention and extracting money from their pockets. He alleged that when people raise public issues in Parliament, their microphones are turned off. He questioned the policies of Prime Minister Modi and said that the common people are struggling with inflation and unemployment, while the government is advising people to buy electric vehicles.

Mr Gandhi also met with women at a women’s dialogue program held in Lalganj. He remained at the event for about 25 minutes where he questioned the government regarding women’s safety. Rahul Gandhi said that rising inflation has troubled the general public and that even buying gold and silver has become difficult.

The leader of the Opposition said, “There are also allegations that the loans of big industrialists were waived, while ordinary people and small businesses were adversely affected. The public also faced difficulties during demonetization. People’s savings and cash transactions were affected. This politics is designed to spread hatred, divert attention, and squander public resources.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “You fully supported us in the Lok Sabha elections. You made us win with a huge majority. I express my gratitude for that as well. I also want to talk to you about the current situation in the country. What is happening in the country today and what will happen in the future. For the last 10 to 12 years, Narendra Modi’s politics has been in one direction: spreading hatred, diverting people’s attention, and confiscating public property, whether it belongs to farmers, laborers, small businessmen, or youth, into the hands of a select few.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “People ask how laborers were robbed of their money. I want to explain. Every year, laborers received employment and money through schemes like MNREGA. Crores of people were employed through this scheme. However, there are allegations that changes to this system reduced its effectiveness in many places. Similarly, demonetization affected small businesses. The sudden change in the cash system disrupted their work, and many faced difficulties.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “The current situation is being taken lightly. The government shouldn’t be making fun of it. They should take immediate action to protect the nation’s security and interests. We are telling PM Modi every day to start protecting farmers, traders, and laborers. If you don’t, the country will be ruined. Now, if we want to change the country, Narendra Modi, you must understand this.”

Rahul Gandhi while assuring the people of Rae Bareli said, “We stand with you. Wherever you go, call me; I will be with you. I stand with the people, I am seen with them, and I love them. You see, all the country’s top leaders—Modi ji, Amit Shah ji, and Gadkari—all went to Ambani’s wedding. Rahul Gandhi will never go there. I was sending the message that I, too, want to be among you, to your homes. You supported me, you asked for a wedding hall, and we even gave you one. The next time there’s a wedding here, please invite me; I will definitely come. Ours is a relationship of love, a relationship of the heart, a family-like relationship.”

Rahul Gandhi reached here this morning from Delhi via Lucknow for a 2 days visit to Rae Bareli and Amethi .
