Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, reacting sharply to the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) East Delhi leader Deepak Singla following an ED investigation in connection with a major bank scam, said yet another dark face of the party has come to the fore.

Sachdeva pointed out that while the bribery case involving Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders remained a matter of public discussion, the face of AAP leaders involved in buying properties with black money, tax evasion, and bank loan frauds has been surfaced. He said Delhiites are shocked by the case involving Singla’s bank loans worth hundreds of crores and the misuse of the funds, adding that this was not the first case of financial wrongdoing by an AAP leader.

He further said that starting from Satyendar Jain to Sanjeev Arora, several names and their misdeeds have already come before the public.
Fake companies and bribe-money transactions by the former minister came to light during 2018-19 but Kejriwal had brushed them aside calling it a political conspiracy, he said, adding, thereafter, AAP leaders have been arrested one after another in bribery cases, while the party kept terming them politically motivated.
“The country hopes that, although Kejriwal tried to protect financial scam accused Satyendar Jain, he will now at least expel Sanjeev Arora and Deepak Singla from the party,” Sachdeva said while addressing a press conference here organised by the Delhi BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor.

Delhi BJP’s state vice-president Yogita Singh and spokesperson Yasir Jilani were also present on the occasion. Singh alleged that the AAP has now become a shelter for economic offenders.
