The CBI’s investigation into the NEET paper leak case has now reached a Rajasthan government medical college after the daughter of one of the key accused allegedly went missing from campus days after her father’s arrest.

Pragati Biwal, a first-year MBBS student at Pandit Nawal Kishore Sharma Government Medical College in Dausa, reportedly left the campus after submitting a leave application shortly after the CBI intensified action against her family. Her father, Mangilal Biwal, and uncle, Dinesh Biwal, are among the accused arrested in the paper leak case.

The latest development has added a fresh layer to the probe, which investigators now suspect could involve a much wider network linked to admissions into medical colleges. The agency is examining whether members of the Biwal family used unfair means to secure seats in medical institutions across the country.

According to sources, Pragati has not attended classes for the past two days, triggering discussions within the college and among investigators. While her family has maintained that she earned admission through merit, the timing of her departure has drawn attention amid the ongoing crackdown.

What has particularly caught the investigators’ attention is the number of students from the same family pursuing medical education at different institutions.

Pragati is currently enrolled in Dausa Medical College, while her brother Vikas studies at Sawai Madhopur Medical College. Her cousin Saniya is pursuing MBBS at SMS Medical College in Jaipur. Another cousin, Palak, is studying medicine in Mumbai, while another family member, Gunjan, is enrolled in a medical college in Banaras.

Investigators are now verifying academic records and admission details to determine whether the family’s medical admissions were linked to the alleged NEET leak racket.

CBI raids accused family’s Jaipur properties

The CBI on Thursday carried out searches at the residences linked to Mangilal and Dinesh Biwal in Jaipur’s Jamwaramgarh area.

Teams raided the accused brothers’ homes in Khatik Mohalla, where, according to sources, no male family members were present during the operation. Investigators reportedly questioned women members of the family, including the accused’s mother and wives, for several hours.

The agency also searched a nearby farmhouse and examined several luxury vehicles parked there. Officials are believed to have seized documents that could be linked to the alleged paper leak network.

NEET paper leak probe spreads beyond Rajasthan

The investigation has already expanded outside Rajasthan, with arrests reported from Maharashtra as well.

So far, seven people have been arrested in connection with the case. Five accused, including Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal and Vikas, have been sent to seven-day CBI custody.

The agency is also searching for Rishi, son of Dinesh Biwal and a NEET aspirant this year, who is reportedly absconding.

Investigators suspect the operation may involve an organised network allegedly manipulating one of the country’s most competitive entrance examinations. The disappearance of an MBBS student linked to the accused family has now added to the scrutiny surrounding the case.
