Family members of Delhi Judicial Services officer Aman Kumar Sharma, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Safdarjung area, have alleged that he was under mental stress and facing harassent at home over the past few months.
Sharma, 30, is suspected to have died by suicide, with preliminary inquiry indicating death by hanging, according to a statement issued by police on Saturday.

Police officials informed that a team was rushed to the spot after receiving a PCR call from Aman’s brother-in-law, Shivam. The body was later sent for post-mortem.
“No foul play has been established so far. However, all angles are being examined as part of inquest proceedings,” PTI quoted a senior police officer as saying.
However, Aman’s relatives have levelled serious allegations, claiming that he had been under distress and had complained of harassment.
Rajesh Sharma, a relative of Aman, told PTI that his father, Prem Sharma, was inconsolable after hearing about his son’s death and was “crying profusely”.
“My son, who is Aman’s brother-in-law, and my daughter-in-law had gone to Green Park, and Aman’s body had been taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” PTI quoted Rajesh Sharma as saying.
Citing Prem Sharma’s purported statement to police, Rajesh Sharma claimed that Aman called his father around 10 p.m. on the night of the incident.
“He told his father, ‘I am very troubled and it has become difficult for me to live. I’ve been harassed for two months’,” Rajesh Sharma claimed.
It is being said that Prem Sharma soon rushed from Alwar and reached the residence around midnight. “Prem was told that Aman had a dispute with his wife who is also a judicial officer. Her sister is an IAS officer posted in Jammu,” Rajesh Sharma said.
Further, it has been alleged that the couple had an argument during the night. “His wife was very angry and was shouting, while Aman was crying. Then suddenly everything went quiet,” Rajesh Sharma said.
As Prem Sharma tried to find his son, he was not in his room. He then called him and heard the ringtone from inside the bathroom.
“Despite repeated knocking, there was no response,” Rajesh Sharma said.
Soon after, neighbours were alerted, and a rear window was used to look inside. “Someone broke the glass pane and saw Aman hanging with a dupatta. He was brought down and taken to hospital,” Rajesh Sharma has claimed.
Moreover, it has been alleged that the family members had difficulties contacting the woman’s relatives, while a few persons present at the house left abruptly.
As per official records, Aman Sharma joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021. He was a law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune and had been serving as Full-Time Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in the North-East district at Karkardooma Courts since October last year.
Further investigation in the matter is currently underway.
