Artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological story. It is becoming a labour-market story, a social-stability story and, increasingly, a middle-class survival story.
The woman did not accept her husband’s version of events and checked nearby CCTV footage to find out what really happened during the bike ride. The video evidence helped police uncover the truth.

Kavya, a 19-year-old woman, had married K Snehit, 28, just last year. Snehit worked with an NGO. According to police, their married life was already under strain. Inspector Ch Shankaraiah of Medipally police said Snehit was unhappy in the marriage and often complained to his mother-in-law, K Aruna, 39, about Kavya’s behaviour and attitude on different issues.
Over time, tensions within the family kept growing. Arguments about personal and domestic matters became frequent.

They began as complaints and slowly turned into regular disputes between Snehit and Aruna. Police said these ongoing issues created a strained relationship inside the household.

On April 29, around noon, Snehit went to Aruna’s home. He told her he would take her to a nearby hotel to buy food. Trusting him, Aruna agreed and sat pillion on his motorcycle.
While travelling, the two again got into an argument over family matters. Police said that during this heated exchange, Snehit had placed his helmet on the bike’s fuel tank. In the middle of the argument, he picked it up and allegedly hit Aruna on the head.
The sudden blow caused Aruna to lose her balance. She fell from the moving bike and suffered serious head injuries. Snehit did not stop immediately and instead gave a different version of events later.
He told Kavya that Aruna had suffered an epileptic seizure and had fallen off the bike on her own. Aruna was taken to a private hospital, but she could not recover. She died on April 30 while undergoing treatment.
Kavya did not fully believe her husband’s explanation. Suspicious about the incident, she decided to investigate further. She checked CCTV footage from a house near the accident location.
The footage showed a different version of events from what Snehit had claimed. It revealed that Aruna had been struck while riding on the bike, which led to her fall and fatal injuries. After seeing the recording, Kavya realised that her husband had not told the truth.
She then approached Medipally police and filed a complaint against Snehit. Based on her statement and the evidence, police registered a case of culpable homicide.
On May 1, police arrested Snehit. Inspector Ch Shankaraiah confirmed the arrest and the sequence of events. He also stated that, according to the investigation, Snehit’s action appeared to have been driven by anger during the argument and not a planned intention to kill.
The case continues to be investigated, with police examining all details surrounding the incident, the arguments, and the CCTV evidence that helped reveal what actually happened on April 29.
