Assam exit polls 2026: The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to sweep the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 with 88-100 seats, predicted Axis My India Exit Poll on Wednesday. The Opposition Congress-led alliance is projected to win 24-36 seats, according to the survey. Others may secure 0-3 seats.

In terms of vote share, the NDA is likely to get 48 per cent of the votes, compared to the Congress-led alliance’s 38 per cent.  AIUDF and UPPL are projected to win 2 per cent and 3 per cent vote share, respectively, while independents may eat up a significant 9 per cent vote share.

Another post-poll survey conducted by Matrize has also predicted a BJP hattrick. According to the Metrize exit poll, the BJP-led NDA is projected to win 85-95 seats with 45.5 per cent vote share. The Congress and its allies are likely to finish distant second, with 25-32 seats and 39.8 per cent vote share.

Janmat Exit Poll also predicted a similar outcome, with the BJP projected to win 87-98 seats and Congress 23-33 seats. JVC exit poll gave the BJP 88-101 seats and predicted 23-33 for the Congress. Kamakhya Analytics survey also predicted a BJP clean sweep with 85-95 seats. The Congress, as per the survey, is likely to secure 26-39 seats.

People’s Insight exit poll predicted 88-96 seats for the BJP and 30-34 for the Congress. One more survey conducted by Poll Diary predicted 86-101 seats for the BJP and 15-26 for the Congress.

The exit polls have a mixed history – sometimes they have predicted the outcome quite accurately, while on several occasions they have proved completely wrong.

The elections to the 126-member-strong Assam Legislative Assembly were held in a single phase on April 9, with official results to be announced on May 4, 2026.
