From counterfeit healthcare products to everyday consumables, fraudsters are widening their net, and now even a common antacid has made it to the list. In a major operation in East Delhi, the Crime Branch has uncovered a well-organised racket churning out fake ENO sachets and counterfeit coffee products, raising fresh concerns over public safety.

The Cyber Cell and Special Operations team of the Delhi Police raided two illegal manufacturing units in Madhu Vihar, where fake ENO antacid powder and counterfeit Nescafé sachets were being produced and packaged for sale. Four accused have been arrested in connection with the case.

Police said the units were operating with full-scale machinery designed to mimic branded packaging. During the raids, officers seized more than one lakh fake ENO sachets and over 50,000 counterfeit coffee sachets, along with filling machines, raw materials and packaging equipment.

The operation was led by Inspector Manjeet Kumar and Inspector Pradeep Singh under the supervision of ACP Swagat Patil Rajkumar, with overall monitoring by DCP Rahool Alwal.

Investigators believe the racket was part of a larger supply chain distributing counterfeit goods in local markets, potentially exposing consumers to serious health risks.

Further investigation is underway to trace the distribution network and identify other links in the counterfeit supply chain.
