One question pulled Kapil Sharma into a far more serious spotlight than his usual comedy stage. The popular comedian-actor ended up talking about something that is quietly changing the world of cinema: Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In a chat with IANS during the event, Kapil opened up about how films, visuals and even storytelling are now being reshaped by AI. And according to him, the biggest confusion today is not about scripts or stars. It is about reality itself.

“Real or fake?” Kapil says the line is getting blurry

Kapil Sharma pointed out that in today’s fast-changing entertainment world, it has become extremely difficult to figure out what is real and what is not. He said this confusion is something audiences will also have to learn to deal with.

He was responding to a question about how Punjab used to be shown beautifully in films earlier, but that representation feels different now with the arrival of AI-based visuals and tools.

Kapil admitted that technology itself is not the problem. In fact, he believes AI is a step forward and part of overall development. However, he also stressed that every new technology comes with its own risks.

According to him, while AI is helping the industry grow, people must also stay aware of its negative side. He clearly suggested that balance is important, because without caution, the same technology that helps cinema can also mislead audiences.

AI’s growing grip on cinema storytelling

Kapil’s comments come at a time when AI is slowly becoming part of almost every stage of filmmaking from visual effects and background creation to voice cloning and even digital actors.

He noted that movies are already feeling this influence, and it is only going to increase with time.

The comedian hinted that this shift is not small or temporary. Instead, it is becoming a deep change in how films are made and experienced.
