Trinamool Congress (TMC) Kerala convener and UDF candidate from Beypore has resigned from the Mamta Banerjee-led party.
Addressing a press conference in Kochi on Monday, Anvar said he has renounced all ties with the TMC and that he would form a new party by May 15 in line with Rahul Gandhi’s ideology.

He said he did not get any support from the national leadership of the TMC and that the party does not accept cooperation with the Congress. They informed that cooperating with the Congress would be difficult for politics in West Bengal. The TMC leaders did not come to campaign because they could not share the stage with the Congress leaders.
Meanwhile, the TMC leadership accused Anvar of being a “fraud” who made false claims regarding the support from other politicians to the TMC. TMC Secretary V Sivadasan said P V Anvar is a leader without political stability. He joined the Trinamool Congress saying that many Left leaders would join the party.
