After wait of two decades, Delhi’s Dariyapur village sees completion of Phirni Road project

Delhi’s rural belt, which has been facing neglect for long, is today witnessing a change with the infrastructure development gaining momentum. In this context, Minister for Social Welfare Ravinder Indraj, who is the MLA from Bawana Assembly constituency, on Sunday inaugurated the newly-constructed Phirni Road in the village Dariyapur Kalan.

The stretch, developed at an approximate cost of Rs 5.73 crore and dedicated to the residents of the area, enhanced connectivity.
The successful completion of the project owes it to the Delhi Village Development Fund and the minister’s efforts with the support extended by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department of the Delhi government. Pending for nearly 20 years, its completion marks a major achievement for the local residents, who had to face inconvenience while commuting for long.
It is alleged that despite consistent public demand over the years, no substantial action had been taken earlier. Now, with the completion of this road, it is going to bring much-needed relief to the village residents and also boost development in Dariyapur and nearby areas.
According to the minister, the development of village and rural areas remains a matter of special concern and priority for the government, while he emphasized that the CM Rekha Gupta regime is committed to ensuring the availability of all essential facilities across the rural regions, and will continue to undertake more development works in the future.
He further stated that strong infrastructure and improved connectivity form the foundation of progress for any region, reaffirming state government’s commitment, going ahead with the vision of a “Viksit and Harit Delhi.”
