Mamata agrees to Firhad’s resignation as civic body mayor: Kunal Ghosh

On the eve of Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee offered prayers at Kalighat temple on Tuesday, seeking blessings for the well-being, happiness, and prosperity of the people of Bengal.

She prayed for strength to continue serving the people and for the triumph of good over all forces that seek to harm the peace and harmony of the state. With faith, she reaffirmed her commitment to stand by the people and work for their welfare, said a release from the TMC.

The expelled TMC MLA claimed that his faction has been accepted as the principal Opposition in the 18th West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
It's official now, the Trinamul Congress (TMC) party has split, with the majority of 59 out of 80 MLAs opting out of the party founded and led by Mamata Banerjee.
