Debutant pacers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain produced a sensational bowling display after a blazing knock from Ishan Kishan powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a commanding win over Rajasthan Royals, ending the table-toppers’ unbeaten run in IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Hinge and Sakib shared eight wickets between them as SRH bowled RR out for 159 in 19 overs, sealing a dominant 57-run victory after posting 216/6.

Put in to bat, SRH recovered from an early blow to produce a batting masterclass led by skipper Kishan, who smashed a brilliant 91 off 44 balls, laced with eight fours and six sixes. His aggressive strokeplay set the tone for a big total despite an early setback.
Jofra Archer struck on the very first ball, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for a golden duck, but Kishan counterattacked in style. He stitched together a crucial 88-run stand with Heinrich Klaasen (40), shifting momentum firmly in SRH’s favour.
Kishan brought up his fifty in just 30 balls and continued to dominate the RR attack before falling agonisingly short of a century, miscuing a pull shot. Late fireworks from Nitish Kumar Reddy (28) and Salil Arora (24 not out) propelled SRH past the 200-mark.
Chasing a daunting 217, RR’s innings unravelled spectacularly in the powerplay, thanks to a dream debut from Hinge. The Nagpur pacer made history by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to pick three wickets in the opening over, finishing with 4-34.
He removed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in a stunning opening burst, before also dismissing skipper Riyan Parag to leave RR in deep trouble.
From the other end, Sakib struck early to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal, as RR slumped to 9/5 inside three overs, effectively ending the contest.
A fighting 118-run partnership between Donovan Ferreira (69) and Ravindra Jadeja (45) helped RR avoid a complete collapse and added some respectability to the total. Ferreira brought up his maiden IPL fifty in just 31 balls, taking on the SRH spinners.
However, Sakib returned to break the stand and ran through the lower order with figures of 4-24, while Eshan Malinga chipped in to wrap up the innings.
The emphatic win marks SRH’s second victory in five matches and lifts them up the points table, while RR’s four-match winning streak comes to an end.
