Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday addressed public meetings in Raniganj and Galsi in West Bengal in support of BJP candidates. She said the large turnout at both the rallies clearly indicated that the people in the state have made up their minds to move on from what she described as corruption, appeasement and lawlessness under the present regime.
Taking a swipe at the ruling dispensation, Gupta said it was ironic that a state which gave the country the national anthem and ‘Vande Mataram’ was now “reduced to a system of syndicates”.

She described the election as more than a political contest, stating that it is a decisive moment to restore Bengal’s lost pride and realise the vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’.
Gupta said the election was not just about a change in power, but about dignity, safety and a better future for the youth.
Accusing the current government of failing young people, she claimed that even deserving candidates were struggling to find jobs, alleging that corrupt practices were being allowed to flourish.
Referring to the slogan ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’, she alleged that today neither women feel safe, nor land is free from mafias, nor do people receive their due rights.
In Raniganj, the Delhi CM raised concerns about the coal mines, adding that strict action was required against those allegedly exploiting workers’ earnings.
In Galsi, she outlined a roadmap focused on development, employment, education and healthcare, promising balanced and faster growth if the BJP comes to power.
During her Raniganj visit, Gupta interacted with local women to understand their concerns, where several members from women’s groups flagged issues of crime, insecurity and corruption.
Expressing confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, she said a BJP government would put an end to corruption and appeasement politics, ushering in a new phase of development and good governance.
