External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday informed that another 312 Indian fishermen have been safely evacuated from Iran to India via Armenia.
He expressed gratitude to his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Government of Armenia for facilitating the evacuation.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Another 312 Indian fishermen have been safely evacuated from Iran to India through Armenia. I thank the Government of Armenia and my friend @AraratMirzoyan for making it possible.”

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had stated that a total of 345 fishermen arrived in Chennai from Iran via Armenia on April 4.
Armenia has been playing a key role in facilitating the evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran.
The MEA had also said that more than 1,200 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated from Iran, of whom 996 were moved to Armenia.
