BJP’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh, reacting to the Bhagwant Mann government’s announcement of public awards to help catch gangsters in Punjab, called it a shameful reflection on the working of the law and order machinery, made after failing to stamp out gangster culture.
What’s more, the BJP leader accused the AAP government of patronising the gangsters and criminals as the party has always been reluctant to get rid of them.
Stating that it is a shocking reflection of the collapse of law and order in Punjab, Chugh added that a government that has to announce cash rewards for citizens to catch gangsters simply shows it has clearly failed in its primary duty.
Questioning the efficiency of the law and order agencies in Punjab, the BJP leader said instead of ensuring public safety, the entire system appears busy serving the political masters.

Under Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, Punjab has become a safe haven for gangsters and mafias, he added.
Sharpening his attack, Chugh further said that Punjab deserves better than this helpless governance.
Meanwhile, the Punjab unit of the BJP, taking to social media platform X, alleged that drugs are openly sold in villages and cities in the state. It claimed that the government and administrative machinery is feigning ignorance about what is happening in the state.
Earlier too, the party had alleged that Mohali has turned into a safe haven for gangsters due to the failure of the Punjab government to effectively control crime and strengthen policing in the district.
