Shyam Lal Sachdeva had passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday, he was 94.

Last rites of Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva’s father Shyam Lal Sachdeva were performed at the Nigam Bodh Ghat on Wednesday in the presence of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and several other dignitaries along with a large number of party workers.

Shyam Lal Sachdeva had passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday, he was 94.
Paying respects to the departed father of Virendra Sachdeva, the Chief Minister said with he nurtured his family and instilled in them values and social service in difficult circumstances through hard work.

She further said as a result of Sachdeva’s good valueshis, his son is serving as the state president of the country’s largest political party.
Sachdeva is survived by his wife Krishna Sachdeva, a daughter and five sons, including the Delhi BJP chief, the youngest of them all.

Shyam Lal Sachdeva’s family had migrated from Muzaffargarh, Pakistan, during the Partition in 1947 and settled in Old Delhi’s Shankar Gali, where they established their business and later moved to Mayur Vihar Phase 1 in East Delhi.

Those present at the funeral included Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, Delhi Ministers Manjinder Sirsa and Ravinder Indraj Singh, Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and Bansuri Swaraj, RSS coordinator Dayanand, and several other senior leaders and office bearers of RSS.
