The ruling BJP celebrated its 47th foundation day across the state with much fanfare, organising a number of programmes.
The week-long celebrations formally began with a ceremonial party flag hoisting at its state headquarters here on Monday morning by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and state BJP president Madan Rathore.

Addressing party cadres at the function, Sharma expressed gratitude to party workers for transforming the BJP into a strong and the world’s largest political organisation through their untiring and dedicated service, while keeping national interest, development and service to the motherland at the forefront.
He called upon workers to resolutely take the party’s ideology and policies to the masses and set a goal to further strengthen the organisation, making the 46-year-old BJP an “invincible political entity”.
State BJP president Rathore presided over the function.
Later, a symposium on the evolution of the party was organised at the headquarters, attended by several senior leaders, including former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, state president Rathore, and Rajya Sabha MP and multi-term former minister Ghanshyam Tiwari.
In her address, former Chief Minister Raje underlined the need for internal discipline and dedication among party workers.
She said that in the party’s initial phases, cadres and grassroots workers faced numerous hardships due to a paucity of funds and lack of facilities. However, their total dedication and zeal for service to the nation enabled them to build the strong BJP of today.
Raje added that such long-serving party functionaries, many of whom are founder members of the BJP and the erstwhile Jana Sangh, should always be respected and honoured.
Several veteran party members were felicitated at the event.
As part of the week-long celebrations, similar programmes including flag hoisting, rangoli decoration, symposia, and felicitation of senior cadres, will be organised across all districts, from the district to the booth level.
