When stand-up comic Zakir Khan grabbed the mic at the Screen Awards 2026, he didn’t just host, he stirred the pot. And his favourite target? The industry’s very public love affair with the blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
Khan began casually, praising the film’s success. But soon, his tone turned cheeky. He pointed out how celebrities have been flooding social media with congratulatory posts, calling the film their “favourite” and sharing glowing reviews. Then came the punchline.

He joked that no matter how many Instagram Stories or interviews people do, the truth is simple, everyone is secretly jealous. His Hindi line, loosely meaning “No matter how many congratulatory posts you make, everyone is burning with jealousy,” sent the audience into loud laughter.
The comment worked because it hit close to home. Many in the room have indeed publicly praised the film’s record-breaking run.
Not stopping there, he added another witty one-liner. Khan compared the film’s success to smoke travelling far and wide, joking that while the explosion may have happened somewhere else, the smoke is visible across Mumbai’s star-heavy neighbourhoods.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has become a phenomenon. The action drama, led by Ranveer Singh, has smashed multiple box office records in just over two weeks.
The numbers are huge. The film has crossed ₹1,000 crore nett in India and gone beyond ₹1,600 crore gross worldwide.
Even after 18 days in theatres, it continues to pull crowds. Cinema halls across the country are still running packed shows, and the film’s momentum doesn’t seem to slow down.
