Two crime scenes, one accused: Delhi Police find jilted man knifed the girl, then killed self with LPG cylinder blast

In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly brutally stabbed by her male friend, who later died in a suspected cylinder blast shortly after the attack, Delhi police said on Friday.

According to the police, a PCR call was received at 5.33 pm at Seemapuri Police Station reporting that a girl had been stabbed multiple times and was lying unconscious in Ravidas Mandir Wali Gali, Old Seemapuri.

By the time the police reached the spot, the girl had already been shifted to GTB Hospital for treatment where doctors declared her unfit for a statement.

Shortly after this, the police said it received another PCR call about a cylinder blast at C-314 New Seemapuri Delhl

Upon inquiry, the police found that an individual named Jatin, 24, died in the suspected cylinder blast.

During the course of the investigation, the police learnt that Jatin was the one who allegedly stabbed the girl.

According to the police, after stabbing the woman, Jatin went home, left the gas cylinder open and set it on fire using a lighter in the kitchen.

Police suspect a love angle in the case as Jatin and the woman were friends. As per the police, Jatin had proposed to the woman but she allegedly rejected his proposal.

The jilted lover then confronted her and brutally stabbed her.
