Strong tremors felt across Delhi-NCR and parts of north India after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck 35 km south of Jurm in Afghanistan.

The quake occurred at 9:42 PM (UTC+05:30) at a depth of 186.4 km, indicating a relatively deep-focus earthquake, allowing seismic waves to travel farther distances.

German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) measured the earthquake at magnitude 5.9.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
