The Asian Boxing Championships 2026 has brought together some of the best talent from across the continent, with each bout playing a key role in determining the medal contenders.

India had made a strong start to the competition on Day 1. In the women’s 54kg category, Preeti Pawar, a gold medallist at the World Boxing Cup Finals, delivered a clinical performance to defeat Kazakhstan’s Elina Bazarova 5-0. In the men’s 70kg division, Deepak edged past Uzbekistan’s Khavasbek Asadullaev with a 3-2 split decision in a closely fought contest.

On Day 2, India continued its solid showing as Priya registered a commanding 5-0 win in the women’s 60kg category against Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volossenko. Meanwhile, Jadumani Singh put up a spirited fight in the men’s 55kg category before narrowly losing 2-3 to Japan’s top seed Rui Yamaguchi in a closely contested bout.

The momentum carried into Day 3, with Vishvanath Suresh and Sachin securing impressive wins. Vishvanath dominated Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Ergeshov in the men’s 50kg division with a 5-0 unanimous decision, while Sachin held his nerve to beat Mongolia’s Buyandalai Bayarkhuu 4-1 in the men’s 60kg category.
