The CPM-Led Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Thursday released its election manifesto for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan unveiled the document in Kozhikode, outlining a 60-point development program comprising 950 specific proposals aimed at creating a New Kerala.
A key promise in the manifesto is lifting 5 lakh families out of extreme poverty and completely eradicating absolute poverty in the state. The manifesto vows to hike social security and welfare pensions to Rs.3,000.
Significant focus is placed on job creation and transitioning Kerala toward a knowledge-based economy. The LDF manifesto pledges to eradicate unemployment and poverty over the next five years by transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy. Furthermore, the government commits to enhancing agricultural stability by raising the minimum support prices for paddy, vegetables, and rubber, while ensuring that paddy farmers receive their payments immediately upon procurement.

The manifesto outlines a comprehensive vision for Kerala’s development, focusing on guaranteed employment for those who graduate from the state through expanded campus recruitment and the establishment of a dedicated skills university. To modernize infrastructure, the government pledges to provide world-class higher education, revitalize the KSRTC, and pursue high-speed rail projects. Socially, it commits to a 50% job quota for women and an integrated local care system designed to support both bedridden patients and the holistic well-being of the elderly.

To drive industrial expansion, the manifesto sets an ambitious goal of securing Rs.2 lakh crore in new investments by 2031. By prioritizing the creation of high-tech innovation hubs and strategic industrial zones, the plan aims to modernize the local economy and create a sustainable job market for the workforce.
