Overcoming geographical, climatic, and ecological constraints imposed by nature, Rajasthan’s agriculture is gearing up to expand into new growth horizons with the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) 2026.

Traditionally an agrarian state, Rajasthan’s agricultural landscape has long been shaped by geographical challenges, limited water resources, and recurrent droughts, making farming a high-risk and uncertain livelihood.

Dependence on rainfall, low productivity, and limited technological penetration have long posed persistent challenges for farmers.
However, in recent years, the state government’s focus on structural reforms, adoption of modern technologies, expansion of irrigation infrastructure, and effective implementation of farmer-centric schemes has significantly transformed the sector.

Today, Rajasthan is emerging as one of the fastest-growing states in agricultural innovation, productivity enhancement, and investment.
Strengthening farmers’ income and financial security has been a central pillar of this transformation.

In alignment with central schemes, the state government has extended additional financial support to farmers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, supplementary state assistance has enhanced the total financial benefit, providing greater annual support to lakhs of farmers.

Additionally, a large number of farmers have been extended crop loans and interest subsidies amounting to thousands of crores of rupees. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, claims worth Rs 6,565 crore have been disbursed, offering relief during natural calamities and enhancing farmers’ risk-bearing capacity.

In a water-scarce state like Rajasthan, prioritising irrigation and water conservation has been a strategic imperative. As many as 43,844 farm ponds have been constructed to promote rainwater harvesting, while drip and mini-sprinkler irrigation systems have been installed across more than 2.23 lakh hectares.

Further strengthening irrigation infrastructure, over 35,368 additional farm ponds have been supported with subsidies amounting to Rs 302.95 crore. Around 32,918 kilometres of irrigation pipelines have been laid to ensure efficient water delivery to farms. Additionally, fencing work covering 37,010 kilometres has been undertaken to safeguard crops. These initiatives have significantly improved water-use efficiency and enhanced agricultural stability and productivity.

To modernise agriculture, the state has actively promoted farm mechanisation. Over 1,10,050 agricultural implements have been subsidised with financial support of nearly Rs 283 crore, reducing input costs and improving productivity.
To further accelerate technological advancement, the state is organising the “Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM 2026)”, an international platform aimed at fostering investment, innovation, and global collaboration in agriculture.
