Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar was shown a black flag on Sunday as he arrived in Kolkata, West Bengal for a full bench meeting.
As the convoy of the Chief Election Commissioner came out of the Kolkata airport, locals showed a black flag to his convoy. Police was seen pushing the protesters towards the edge of the road as they also shouted slogans.

CEC Kumar, along with full bench Election Commissioners, arrived in Kolkata for a three-day visit.
They will hold a full bench meeting and review the preparations for the upcoming 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections.
During the visit, the CEC is also expected to hold meetings with all political parties, senior administrative officials, and police.
The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has been criticising the Election Commission over the issue of the SIR exercise and the subsequent deletions in the state’s voter rolls.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also holding a protest against large-scale deletions in the state’s voter rolls following the SIR exercise.
CM Banerjee has accused the BJP and the EC of conspiring to “disenfranchise Bengali voters”. She has vowed to “expose the BJP-EC conspiracy to disenfranchise Bengali voters.”
Following the controversial SIR exercise, names of as many as 63.66 lakh voters, about 8.3 per cent of the electorate, were deleted from the final voter list published by the Election Commission on February 28
