The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Friday passed the state budget for 2026-27, and the third supplementary budget for 2025-26 before being adjourned sine die a week before its scheduled ending on 6 March.

The Opposition Congress staged a walkout in the house, alleging that they were denied an opportunity to put forth their points on the different demands mentioned in the budget.

In his closing remarks, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar mentioned that during the ten sittings of the house, a total of 3478 questions including 1750 starred and 1728 unstarred were received while notices for 902 call attention motions and 333 notices for zero hour were received by the assembly.

The Assembly, in an innovative move, presented an e-budget on tablet for the first time.

State lLgislative Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya moved a proposal that the house should be adjourned sine die as all the listed business of the house was completed and no business was left.

Following this, the Speaker took the approval from the house and adjourned it sine die in the absence of Dr Mohan Yadav and Umang Singhar.

The Assembly’s budget session was scheduled from 16 February to 6 March.
